In a few months, on June 23rd, Britain will vote whether or not to stay in the European Union. Many people in Britain believe the immigration, regulations, and cost of being in the EU outweighs the benefit. Being the second largest economy in Europe, dropping out of the EU would cause economic uncertainty all across the world, but even now Britain is experiencing a fall in value of the Pound as investors are worried of the so-called "Brexit" (British Exit), which is growing in popularity. The British Pound dropped 2% against the US Dollar and 1.3% against the Euro this Monday morning.

I think that Britain should become an independent country because if their economy is starting to fail they need new ways for economic growth. As a new country they have that chance to have the economic growth that they need to have right now.

I strongly believe that the marginal costs of Britain leaving the EU far outweighs the marginal benefits. With the instability in the Middle East and the bold moves being made by Russia I believe that Britain needs the protection and support of the EU. Not to mention that leaving the EU would limit the British economy not grow it, given what Philip mentioned about the decline in worth of the British pound due to talk of the "Brexit". 2/22/2016 07:18:13 pm
Oil prices have gotten so low, that one family in New Jersey can purcahse their heating oil for $1.52 a gallon, as opposed to the $3.45 a gallon in April 2013, and save as much as $10,000 on their heating oil bill each year, which they plan on spending on a Disneyland trip. The low prices of oil mean people have more money to spend on other goods and services they wouldn't have purchased otherwise. many people are worried, however, that the prices are too good to last, and are buying as much oil now as they can, wishing they had larger oil tanks for their heating oil.

The crash of oil prices over the past months have led oil investors to the weakest point in over thirty years. Statistics are beginning to prove that within the fall of 2016 our means of production will drop from 24% to 17%. I feel like this is such a bad thing for our economy because for so long oil investments have been something that has helped strive America, and without the investments oil prices will begin to rise higher and higher making it hard for our suppliers to buy from certain countries

Gasoline has dropped in price because the demand for oil has not been as high because recently electric cars have had a higher demand than gas powered cars. In my opinion. But eventually the gas prices will go up because no matter what gasoline will be in high demand for the amount of cas are in the US and in the world.

During the market crash of 2008, the price of oil increased by nearly 500%, if oil prices start to rise, it might be a repeat of the crash from 2008. Some investors think that the market will crash again, and falling oil prices is a sign leading into the crash. Another crash to the US economy would be accurately predicted if it repeats itself.

Even though the U.S. is being hit the hardest from the fall in oil prices, according to the IEA, I believe we will ultimately benefit from this and come out on top. The U.S. and Iran are the largest oil producers in the world pumping out 4.1 million barrels of oil a day, but the middle east is steadily running out of oil and we keep discovering more. This will eventually be the number one producer on the planet which make for a large profit for the U.S. industry and will heavily stimulate the economy.

I do agree that America will have trouble keeping up with rising oil prices from foreign sources, but if we can invest further in our own oil industry; as well as in finding new sources of sustainable energy, America will be able to lessen the impact of this crash and better itself in the long run.

It's terrifying to imagine the US going to war with China, because of all of the things we buy from them, but now it's even worse if China is a major manufacturer of its own weapons. If they don't need to ask other countries for weapons, we wouldn't be able to prevent trade with China to keep them from being well armed. If they have so many weapons, and the largest population on the planet, it would be hard to match their firepower.

Newcomers to this homeless refuge huddle in the warming station, a small portable with photos of smiling former residents and where they are required to stay during a 60-day probationary period. an “intentional community” by its members and a homeless encampment by outsiders, Dignity Village is a step toward curbing Portland’s skyrocketing homeless population. The village’s five rules help cultivate that sense of community: no violence, no theft, no alcohol or drugs within a one-block radius, no constant disruptive behavior, and all residents must contribute at least 10 hours per week of work for village upkeep.

I agree with homeless people having a place to stay instead of them living on the streets, and who knows what can happen to them if they are just on the streets sitting their. There has been violence towards homeless people who are on the streets. So building this small town for homeless people is a very good idea. But if they do not follow the rules they were given they should not be allowed to stay there.

companies like Uber, which advertises pay rates of up to $35 an hour, become attractive options for immigrants struggling to find a source of income. Thanks to the new Seattle measure, long-suffering drivers may finally have some peace of mind. For many Uber drivers, better treatment means finally having the right to a two-way conversation with their multibillion-dollar employer, the right to negotiate for something as simple and vital as healthcare benefits.

The thing with Uber, though is that it has been starting riots in some countries due to driving (no pun intended) taxi drivers out of business, and that many people guilty of crimes such as breaking and entering, kidnapping, or even murder, have been found working for Uber. Uber is so easy to apply and work for that dangerous people are signing up.

Fossilized asterid flowers, last seen 30 million years ago, have been found petrified in amber. Approximately 80,000 plant species fall under this ancient ancestor but the fossilized plants may be toxic. These plants belong to the same genus as poisonous plants that have been used to make lethal, paralyzing substances like strychnine and curare. Some of these poisons were used in the movie "Psycho".

Due to the idea of another crash of the stock market, many investors will be selling a large portion of their stocks before the market crashes. If a large number of people sell their stocks all at once, that will make the market crash even faster than it normally would.

I think this is a good sign of business investment in our modern market. In my opinion the growth of business investment shows a steady growth in the GDP.

This can create heavy competition with many other internet providing companies. Companies like Verizon and Comcast. With a rise of competition other companies would have no choice but to improve products and lower prices. This kind of competition has been shown to improve both competing companies.

The decline was from 97.8 in January to 92.2 in February. This was a bigger than expected drop as economists predicted the level to be at 96.6 in January. Despite the bigger than expected decline the level of confidence is still pointing to moderated growth for the U.S. economy.
