Longview is a timber and mill town of 37,000 in southwest Washington with a desperate need for jobs.Local citizens learned about the potential consequences of the refinery and propane terminal. They learned that the facilities would be fed by a daily stream of oil trains bifurcating the town’s central district.Longview is now the hotspot for yet another fossil fuel project: the Millennium Bulk Coal Export Terminal.

I am very surprised that a small town won against the oil company. If they get more jobs out of it it will help them them economically and decrease their problem of unemployment.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company was looking for a city to host its new brewery, it had a stringent list of requirements. In the past two decades, craft beer has seen remarkable growth. In 1994 only 1.3 percent of America’s beer market was craft beer. All of the small-brewers have an obligation to help each other in an effort to beat the big guys.others think that most craft beer drinkers are smart enough to sort out which brewers are really invested in their communities and which are simply sending checks to transnational bank accounts.

It's great that small businesses are able to compete in such a consumer loyalty heavy market. The larger breweries are like Walmart or Target, attracting customers and driving them away from mom and pop shops. People supporting smaller businesses like this is a welcome change.

ABTA, Britain's top travel organization, predicts that travel will become increasingly difficult for British citizens if they go through with the Brexit (British separation from the EU). Health care and air fare costs will increase, which is bad news for the European Union, which receives about 28.3 billion dollars per year on British tourism in the EU. Being in the union currently provides good healthcare and easy, cheap travel to 28 European nations, but Britain's removal would keep them from those benefits and would generally complicate travel.

I don't know why Britain wants to leave the European Union? They are a nation of example and leaders for the EU. Britain has to realize that if they leave, they won't be harming their own economy, but all of Europe's. If Europe's economy worsens, then other major economies will collapse make a domino effect.

A pregnant T-Rex has been found with available DNA, and could be the holy grail of all dinosaur fossils. It has been found in Montana and dates back to 68 million years ago. It shows retained medullary bone that reveals the individual was pregnant, Medullary bone is only present in female living dinosaurs.

There was actually a project done where scientists were able to manipulate a chickens DNA and give it dinosaur qualities. It's definitely interesting and exciting that people are able to do this.

The United States now has only 480 rigs drilling for gas and oil as of last week, the lowest it has been since 1949. In recent months, oil rigs have been shutting down at rapid rates due to needing higher prices to turn a profit. Our existing oil rigs are putting more out and rigs in the gulf of Mexico are making a strong output, so production has been surprisingly resilient.

I agree with Philip saying that we will have to rely on other countries for oil if we continue to shut down more rigs.

I believe the massive shutdown of oil rigs is due to the new low prices of oil. Turning a profit is harder for our country due to many laws that helps workers which the middle east does not have. The only way where we can use our oil would be to raise the price. This would however be difficult for the public because the demand for oil changes immensely with the change of price.

I think its dangerous to cut our abilities to produce oil for ourselves because if we rely too much on other countries for our oil, we might be giving them too much power over us. 3/15/2016 11:59:24 am
A new creation of "Fish Eye" contacts that could auto-focus on objects both far and near, giving you a new pair of eyes that don’t wear out with age has been created. After the whole E. coli outbreak in the Chipotle food chains, a lot of people quit eating at chipotle. In the past few months of the start to 2016, chipotles shares have gone down $1 per share or worse, dropping shares 6%. Chipotle tried to win back customers by sending out a free food coupon which was valid for anything on the menu. It says that sales were down 26%, compared with a 36% plunge in January. The outbreaks have had a major downfall with the company, causing it to lose a lot of business.

It will also take a long time for the customers to put their trust in the chipotle food chain again.

One brother was the shooter, another one was the get away driver, and the last one was recording the shooting. 28 year old undercover narcotics detective Jacai Colson was the officer who neutralized the situation by putting the himself in a dangerous situation and by doing so he got shot but, the that is not what killed him. i agree with what you said completely. The fact that our own police officers cannot handle pressure in a dangerous situation worries me. I think that the police need further training to strengthen their wits so something horrible like this never happens again. The fact that our officers cannot handle a dangerous situation, and then are given a deadly weapon to use in said situation, is a recipe for chaos.

A twin engine beach craft plane makes a belly landing at the Van Nuys airport late Tuesday night. The plane was doing a medical transport with five people on board. No one suffered injuries landing. The plane reported landing gear trouble on approaching the airport. One person who was being taken here for medical treatment was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance for treatment. Her husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's about ten years before the average and she found that most of the clothes were designed for the elderly and those in wheelchairs. It was hard to find business clothes for him to work in. she made a line of clothes that use washable magnets that are hidden, it makes the clothes look like normal clothing. It may help to ecourage people to choose water over soda and is a step in the right direction.
